What Does BIA Accreditation Mean for Beauty Courses?

When you're comparing beauty courses, you'll see the word "accredited" a lot. Here's what BIA accreditation means and why it matters when you choose where to train.

Who are BIA?

Beauty Industry Approval (BIA) is an accreditation body that approves beauty training courses and training providers. House of Doll Studios & Training Academy is a BIA-accredited training provider, and Danielle holds a Beauty Educators Diploma from Beauty Industry Approval Ltd.

What does accreditation mean for you?

  • The course content has been reviewed and taught to National Occupational Standards.
  • Your certificate is recognised for insurance and professional membership purposes.
  • Once insured, you can legally take paying clients for the treatments you've qualified in.

Accredited courses vs CPD masterclasses

Accredited beginner courses are designed to take you from no experience to qualified. Masterclasses are CPD (continuing professional development) sessions for people who are already qualified and want to refine their technique — they're non-accredited because they build on a qualification you already hold.

Questions to ask any training provider

  • Who accredits the course, and will my insurer accept the certificate?
  • How many students will be on the course with me?
  • Is a kit included, or available to buy?
  • Is there support after I qualify?
